Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, better known by his football alias Cristiano Ronaldo, is a forward for the Portuguese national team. He is the captain of Portugal’s national team and a player for Manchester United in the Premier League. He is regarded as one of the all-time great football players and, by some, the best.

Ronaldo signed for Manchester United a year after turning pro with Sporting CP when he was 17 years old in 2002. After winning the FA Cup in his debut campaign, he went on to win the Premier League three times in a row from 2006–07 to 2007–08 to 2008–09.
Ronaldo assisted United in winning the UEFA Champions League in 2007–2008. In December 2008, he won his first Ballon d’Or and his first FIFA Club World Cup. Ronaldo once held the record for being the most expensive player in the history of professional football after switching from Manchester United to Real Madrid for over £80 million in July 2009.
